How to Pose the Bride with Other People

This is the bride’s big day, the wedding. She's already nervous about everything from walking down the isle to the wedding portraits after. It's your job to make her look stunning.

It's easy to photograph weddings if only for one reason. Everyone looks great! They're dressed up in their utmost finest and feeling great about a blessed life-changing event.

It's hard to go wrong taking wedding portraits when everyone looks so lovely.

Don't fool yourself. Plenty can go wrong. One of the biggest faults of a new photographer is losing the bride in group shots. Again, it's the bride’s big day. She and her new groom should be the prime subjects in any photograph, including a group photograph.

When you're posing other people with the bride, including the groom, you need to create an extra-ordinary level of closeness between the bride and groom. Consider posing the traditional bridal party shot everyone standing to attention and looking straight at you the photographer. How about having the bride and groom share a passionate kiss in their group shot? The bridal party can be looking up at the bride and groom in an embrace that will have tears rolling down Grannies eyes for years?

Keep the bride and groom in complete focus at all times. Be sure to position the heads of the bride and every person she takes a photo with close together. It's not always as easy as it sounds. People aren't used to posing. They're not models they're real people who shy away from cameras.

It's common to leave far too much space between subjects in a group portrait. Don't make this mistake.

You may find yourself reminding even the groom, to move their head in very close to the bride. Most people feel unnatural getting that close in portraits. It's your job to help them understand the end result with be spectacular prints they will share for a lifetime and thereafter.

On your next wedding shoot remember:
  1. The bride and her groom should be the center of attention even in group shots.
  2. Step up the level of closeness between subjects which will give you very powerful images.

Do these two things and your photography business will endure as long as the photographs that you've created?

How to Choose a Wedding Photographer

You've spent your whole life dreaming about your wedding, and choosing the right wedding photographer can mean the difference between joys and regret when you look back on your wedding day. With the choice being so important, here are a few things to consider making sure you end up with a professional you'll be happy with.

Style

If you don't like the style of images in a photographer's portfolio, don't fall into the trap of thinking that he will be able to work magic and suddenly transform styles on your wedding day per your request. If you don't like an artist's portfolio, move on to another studio. Also, look beyond the portfolio to the shooting style. Do you like being posed or do you like to do your own thing? Do you like someone who is worried about the details or someone who doesn't spend too long getting an image? An engagement session is a great way to go on a "test run" before your big day to see what kind of images you get.

Experience

Getting a professional that has been photographing for a while should be a major consideration. The photographer doesn't have to be as old as your grandpa to qualify on the experience front, but a kid fresh out of college who's only shot a small wedding once probably isn't the greatest choice either. I would suggest looking for someone who has shot over 20 weddings as the primary shooter. With anything less than that, expect to spend extra time waiting for the amateur to figure out his gear, and expect a lot of images to look unprofessional.

Reputation

If a friend or someone you know has already used a photographer, talk to your friend to see what their experience was like. If you don't know anyone who has had experience with the business, ask the studio for a couple people you could call. Keep in mind that the people the business refers to you will be carefully selected customers who think highly of their work. Either way, you should be able to ask some basic questions to find out more about them from the customer's side. Also look for reviews online to see what other people are saying about the business.

Personality

If your photographer drives you nuts during your consultation, it's a pretty safe bet that you're not going to be happy with him on your wedding day. If you're looking for easy-going, and you get boring instead, your smiles will look fake and your patience will run thin. You'll have too much going on during your wedding day to worry about trying not to lose your temper because of your vendor's bad attitude.

Budget

In a perfect world, money wouldn't be a consideration when choosing wedding vendors. Unfortunately, most of us have limitations on how much we can afford to pay for photography. While the $100 special deal you found online might look appealing, your "real deal" may turn out to be a real loser. Be cautious of any wedding package that's less than $1,000. Also, keep in mind that not all wedding packages are created equal. Some packages include prints, a CD, and a certain number of hours. Watch out for all the extras that can throw your photography budget off.

The Number One Mistake Most couples do Wedding Photography

The number one mistake most couples wedding photography should be done in order to make their approach to booking a wedding photographer. Amount of money spent during the planning of a wedding adds up quickly, and soon to be exceptional.

However, it would be a mistake, maybe heartbreaking to see your wedding photography as just another burden. This is actually quite the opposite of AOS. Let me explain.

Photography should be seen as an investment, there is always a journey worth AOS in the future more than now. This offers the advantage. Now you can do more with photos, they want to put on the screen, or store them away for safe keeping. This is comparable with the money in five-year bonds.

After five years of investment to grow, you need Love and are worth more than when you started. As simple as going through old photos, they are worth more than when they first met.

Imagine your 25th Birthday, 30 or even up-50 through your wedding album. You may need to sit with your grandchildren. You can enjoy a romantic evening with your partner. Or, sadly, could you have. I guarantee your wedding album will be worth more to spend at the time of the amount of money you want now.

So what does this mean? Now, when you look for a wedding photographer, Don, AOT, someone who can do the job for the least amount of money.

Instead, find someone you trust to take your money and it can be in something more valuable.

When searching for photographers, aware of their image. Do you feel like you are actually at the wedding? Photos are praised by the guests and show them to have fun? Do not really see the bride in love with each other?

With regard to products such as album or frame, they are professional quality (from the trade supplier only) or consumer-grade (available on the High Street) Albums you should have a sufficiently good quality for generations.

Finally, quality wedding photography ISN, AOT expensive, it is AOS priceless. Skimping on your wedding photos is a mistake and a false economy.
